Etisoppo is a ‘super-mini-card-style-artbook’ produced and published by Japanese-born artist and designer Jun Tagami in Randwick, New South Wales.
The images are contributed by a range of artists based predominantly in Sydney but with a strong connection to Asia.
Etisoppo’s title (‘opposite’ backwards) makes reference to the directions in which text is read in different cultures. With its format of individual cards within an acrylic holder, Etisoppo acts both as a magazine and a mini-gallery. The lack of binding encourages viewers to interact by mixing and matching the images and ensures that there is no one hierarchy or reading.
