Bible

This bible, which is known as the Ninth German Bible, was printed in 1483.

It is the first German bible to be published in Nuremberg and was printed by Anton Koberger, who had the typeface cut especially for this work.

The text is in Low German dialect. The book contains more than 100 woodcuts, the style of which influenced later German biblical illustration, including Albrecht Dürer’s Apocalypse, printed in 1498.
